Online Schooling is an Illusion

I hate going to school, and yet somehow not having to leave my bed to go to a class I can put on 2x speed is so much worse.

Every student has had to deal with it in some form or another this past year, and we’ve all been subjected to the torture of being test subjects while teachers figure out how to teach to a camera angled up at the underside of their chin while their dogs are barking in the background.

It’s different for everyone. Some people like learning without having to actually go to school while other people are struggling to miss class when they can’t use ‘car troubles’ as their excuse three times a week. Some people like how easy it is to cheat on tests without having to look over at their neighbors paper and others are struggling with anxiety because somehow talking face to face with the teacher is better than having to learn how to write an email.

But no matter what kind of student you are or know, online schooling is an illusion.

I don’t mean it’s not real. Online schooling is very real and we’ve all suffered because of that.

The problem is online schooling gives students a certain mindset and confidence that’s completely different from what they experience physically attending school, and literally nobody knows how to deal with this.
